About the Role

Ruah is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Risk & Audit Officer to support governance, risk, audit and quality activities across the organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Governance,



you will assist with maintaining risk registers, coordinating audit and assurance activities, monitoring key quality and compliance indicators, supporting accreditation requirements, and contributing to policy and governance processes. You will play an important role in providing insights and recommendations that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement across the organisation.

This is a full-time permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the development, implementation and ongoing review of Ruah’s Risk Management Framework and associated programs
- Maintain and monitor strategic, operational and project risk registers
- Coordinate internal audit and assurance activities, including tracking audit actions, recommendations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Analyse and report on quality, risk and compliance data to support informed decision-making
- Prepare reports and insights for leadership groups, committees and governance forums
- Contribute to policy development, review and legislative and regulatory compliance activities
- Support the delivery of training and provide guidance on risk, governance and quality management practices
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify emerging governance, risk and quality requirements
- Contribute to accreditation, assurance and continuous improvement activities across the organisation
- Promote a culture of accountability, quality and continuous improvement throughout Ruah

What we’re looking for

You are an analytical and collaborative professional with strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organisation.

Essential Skills and Experience

- Knowledge of contemporary corporate governance frameworks and quality and risk management principles and practices
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills in audit and data analysis, including the use of Microsoft 365 and relevant systems and tools
- Ability to plan, interpret and present information, including writing clear reports and presenting findings to diverse audiences




- Well-developed interpersonal communication skills, including consultation and negotiation, and the ability to build trusted working relationships at all levels
- Experience applying change management approaches to support continuous improvement

Desirable

- Knowledge of ISO 31000 Risk Management principles and frameworks
- Understanding of diversity and social inclusion, including Aboriginal culture
- Experience in community services, health, mental health or other human services sectors
