Network Engineer – Fortinet (Offshore Oil & Gas Project)
- Initial 3-month contract with solid potential for extension
- Supporting a major offshore Oil & Gas infrastructure project
- Hands-on role focused on Fortinet firewall configuration, validation, and remediation
- Offshore roster consisting of 10 days offshore, 2 travel days, and 12-hour shifts
About the Role
Green Light Worldwide is seeking 2 Network Engineers with strong Fortinet experience to support a major offshore infrastructure project.
This role focuses on supporting an existing network deployment, performing firewall remediation, validation, and configuration activities to close out outstanding project deliverables and punch-list items. The successful candidates will work directly onsite within an offshore operational environment as part of a rotating engineering team.
This opportunity is ideal for engineers with strong Fortinet capability who are comfortable operating in industrial or operational technology environments and are open to offshore work.
Responsibilities
- Perform Fortinet firewall configuration and remediation activities
• Validate existing configurations and ensure compliance with project standards
• Close out outstanding configuration and punch-list items
• Troubleshoot and resolve firewall and network-related issues
• Support network testing and operational readiness activities
• Collaborate with project stakeholders and offshore operations teams
• Maintain accurate documentation and implementation records
• Work safely within offshore operational environments and procedures
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet firewall configuration and troubleshooting
• Experience working with existing production environments rather than greenfield deployments
• Fortinet NSE certification highly regarded (NSE6 preferred)
• Experience within OT, industrial, mining,
or Oil & Gas environments highly desirable
• Comfortable working offshore on a shift-based roster
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capability
Mobilisation Requirements
The following certifications are required prior to mobilisation:
- OEUK Medical (formerly OGUK Medical)
- BOSIET with CA-EBS certification
- Escape Chute certification (Australian completion required)
- Completion of offshore onboarding requirements
For candidates who do not currently hold these certifications, onboarding, medicals, and training costs can be arranged and covered as part of mobilisation requirements. Candidates should be available to complete these activities promptly to meet project timelines.
Roster & Travel
- 12-day swing rotation:
- 10 days offshore
- 2 travel days
- 12-hour shifts while offshore
- Travel provided from Perth via regional transit points to the offshore facility
