Role Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and quality-driven QA Engineer / Software Tester to ensure the reliability, functionality, and performance of software applications through comprehensive testing and quality assurance practices. This role is responsible for designing test strategies, executing manual and automated testing, identifying defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and passionate about improving software quality and user experience.

Key responsibilities include

Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.

Perform manual, functional, integration, regression, system, user acceptance, compatibility, and performance testing.

Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage.

Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using issue management and bug tracking tools.

Verify defect fixes through retesting and regression testing to ensure application stability.

Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product managers, and project teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Review business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to ensure testability and quality standards.

Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

Perform API, database, and backend validation testing where applicable.

Monitor software quality metrics and provide reports on testing progress, defect trends, and release readiness.

Support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes by integrating automated testing into deployment pipelines.

Maintain test documentation, quality standards, testing procedures, and knowledge repositories.

Identify opportunities to improve testing methodologies,



automation frameworks, and quality assurance processes.

Ensure compliance with organizational quality standards, security requirements, and software development best practices.

Stay informed about emerging testing tools, automation technologies, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.

Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, quality assurance principles, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), defect management, and test planning techniques.

Familiarity with manual testing, automated testing, regression testing, integration testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar frameworks is an advantage.

Understanding of API testing, RESTful services, Postman, database testing, and SQL.

Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or other modern software development methodologies.

Robust analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality software.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
