The role

Looking for steady drill maintenance work with strong money, a supplied ute and a crew that backs each other?

Virtus has a few ongoing Drill Fitter roles available in the Pilbara on a 2/1 roster (DS/NS)

These are long-term, rostered maintenance roles — not shutdowns, not short-term backfill, and not a “we’ll see what’s available next swing” setup.

You’ll be joining a steady crew, carrying out planned servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repairs across drill fleets to keep the gear running safely and reliably.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for experienced Drill Fitters who know their way around mining equipment and take pride in doing the job properly.

You’ll suit this role if you’re reliable, safety-focused, confident around drill gear and comfortable working as part of a small, capable crew.

This is a good fit for someone who wants ongoing work, strong rates and a stable roster.

What you’ll be doing

- Planned servicing and preventative maintenance

- Fault finding and breakdown support

- General mechanical repairs

- Supporting a reliable, safety-focused maintenance crew

- Keeping equipment available, safe and ready to work

What you’ll need

- Australian-recognised trade certificate

- Current C-Class driver’s licence

- Full working rights in Australia

- Proven mining maintenance experience

- Drill fitting / drill maintenance experience

- Strong fault-finding and mechanical repair skills

- Good attitude and ability to work well in a small crew

- Pride in doing the job safely and properly
