RAPTORTECH PTY LTD
RaptorTech is a leading engineering and manufacturing company specialising in the design and production of cutting-edge, high-performance technologies for mining, construction, and industrial applications. With a strong focus on innovation, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, we pride ourselves on delivering robust, practical solutions that can be manufactured, tested, deployed, and supported to a high standard.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Due to continued business growth and scaling of operations, we are seeking a motivated, hands-on, and detail-oriented Production Engineer to join our team in Belmont, WA. In this role, you will be responsible for converting engineering designs into repeatable production processes, controlled work instructions, QA/QC documentation, test procedures, production jigs, and manufacturing support systems.
This role sits at the interface between Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Inventory, and Operations. You will help ensure RaptorTech products can be built consistently, tested effectively, packaged appropriately, and released into the parts and inventory system with clear documentation and traceability.
This is an exciting growth position created to support the expanding scale of the business, offering the opportunity to play a key role in shaping production systems, improving manufacturing efficiency, and contributing to the successful delivery of innovative products as the company continues to grow.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Convert engineering drawings, CAD models, schematics, and design outputs into practical production work instructions, assembly procedures, inspection checklists, and controlled manufacturing documentation.
- Develop and maintain QA/QC processes, inspection records, acceptance criteria, and quality documentation for mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical assemblies.
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final QA/QC inspections to confirm products are manufactured to specification and released with appropriate records.
- Develop, build, and improve assembly jigs, fixtures, templates, production aids, test harnesses, and tooling to improve repeatability,
safety, and production efficiency.
- Design and operate electromechanical test jigs and production test equipment to support functional testing, acceptance testing, and production validation.
- Perform product testing, record results, investigate failures, and support corrective actions for production defects, non-conformances, and field-return issues.
- Create and maintain manufacturing Bills of Materials (mBOMs), working alongside Engineering, Procurement, and Inventory to ensure manufactured products are accurately structured in the parts system.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by transitioning prototypes and engineering designs into repeatable, scalable manufacturing processes.
- Train production, assembly, and technical staff in approved manufacturing processes, work instructions, QA/QC requirements, and safe use of jigs and test equipment.
- Develop packaging, transport frames, handling aids, and shipping methods for manufactured products to support safe storage, movement, domestic delivery, and international deployment.
- Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable improvements to reduce rework, defects, build time, and production risk.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Design, Procurement, Inventory, Quality, and Operations to improve manufacturing readiness and production flow.
- Maintain clear production records, test results, quality evidence, and traceability from engineering design through manufacture, testing, packaging, shipment, and field deployment.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering,
or a related technical discipline.
- 2–5 years’ experience in a production engineering, manufacturing engineering, QA/QC, test engineering, or technical operations environment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and Bills of Materials.
- Experience developing work instructions, standard operating procedures, inspection records, test procedures, or manufacturing documentation.
- Hands-on workshop, assembly, fabrication, or electromechanical testing experience.
- Practical experience designing, building, or improving jigs, fixtures, test equipment, tooling, or production aids.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- High attention to detail and a strong focus on quality, traceability, documentation control, and repeatable manufacturing outcomes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to train staff, explain technical processes, and work effectively across engineering, production, procurement, and inventory teams.
- Experience with CAD tools, ERP/MRP systems, inventory systems, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methods will be highly regarded.
- Experience with industrial electronics, low-voltage electrical assemblies, or ruggedised field equipment will be highly regarded.
