Join our Kindergarten Team - Part-Time | 3 Days per Week (Monday–Wednesday), commencing Monday 20 July 2026

Aurora Southern Highlands Steiner School is seeking two warm, enthusiastic and reliable Kindergarten Assistants to join our vibrant Early Childhood team.

Located in beautiful Bowral, NSW, Aurora is a growing Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 Steiner school committed to nurturing curious, capable and compassionate young people through meaningful relationships, creativity and connection with the natural world.

Our Kindergarten offers children aged 4–6 years a home-like, play-based environment where imagination, movement, nature and rhythm form the foundation of each day. We are looking for people who genuinely enjoy spending time with young children and who are excited to contribute to a caring, collaborative learning community.

About the Role

Working alongside our experienced Steiner Kindergarten teachers, you will help create a warm, welcoming and well-organised environment where children feel safe, valued and inspired to learn through play.

This diverse role combines practical support with meaningful engagement with children throughout the day.

Key responsibilities include:

- Assisting the class teacher with the daily rhythm and activities

- Supporting children’s play, social interactions and independence

- Preparing nutritious morning tea and a wholesome cooked lunch for the class

- Maintaining a clean, organised and inviting learning environment

- Washing dishes, tidying kitchen areas and completing light domestic tasks

- Preparing materials and resources for learning experiences

- Working collaboratively as part of a supportive Kindergarten team

- Helping foster a calm, joyful and nurturing atmosphere for every child

About You

We are looking for someone who:

- Enjoys working with young children and understands the importance of play

- Is warm,



patient, energetic and dependable

- Takes initiative and enjoys being part of a cooperative team

- Is organised and happy to contribute to the practical running of the Kindergarten

- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Shares Aurora’s commitment to child-centred education and respectful relationships

- Has (or is willing to obtain) a current NSW Working With Children Check

- Has (or is willing to obtain) a Certificate III in Children’s Services

Previous experience in early childhood education, Steiner education or a similar setting is highly regarded, although we also welcome applicants who are eager to learn and bring the right attitude, enthusiasm and care to the role.
