Work from home costs (eg travel, accommodation, utilities, equipment) are the contractor’s responsibility.Maximum hours40 hours per weekSecurity clearanceMust be able to obtain BaselineJob detailsProject Managers plan and manage the delivery of projects.This Senior Project Manager role is responsible for applying their specialist skills to assist in the development and management of key projects within the Migrant English and Language Services (MELS) Branch, including On Demand Web Translation ODWT). In this capacity, the role is responsible for scheduling, managing, documenting and delivering projects of work, as well as being responsible and accountable for managing key stakeholder relationships, project quality, change control and risk management processes.The role also assists in the operation of the On Demand Web Translation service, including stakeholder engagement, community engagement, assessment of technical issues and quality assurance.Key duties and responsibilitiesThe Specified Personnel will be responsible for providing the following deliverables including but not limited to:• Managing projects that are high risk or complex in nature;• Managing multiple projects concurrently;• Managing projects of strategic importance to the Department;• Managing a multi discipline team with complex and different interfaces;• Providing strategic planning, mapping and modelling development;• Developing project documentation to a high standard as specified by the Department’s methodology within identified timeframes;• Preparing and maintaining the project schedule;• Building and developing stakeholder relationships;• Managing project risks and issues and escalating as appropriate;• Preparing progress reports;• Managing resources for projects and/or programs;• Preparing and managing budgets;• Mentoring staff;• Facilitating and conducting requirements progress meetings, presentations and workshops failure.Specified Personnel will be expected to transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Department’s recordkeeping policy and practices.The Specified Personnel will be responsible for producing the following deliverables,



including but not limited to:• Project Schedule;• Project Implementation Plan;• Project Management Plan;• Benefits Management Plan;• Stage plan;• Baseline Change Requests – as required and if applicable;• Statement of Requirements;• Transition Plan.
All deliverables performed by the specified personnel must:be performed or delivered promptly and without delay in accordance with the timeframes notified by the buyer from time to time; andmeet the assessment and performance criteria set out in any monitoring and performance assessment processes notified to the seller from time to time.Technical skillsN/AAbout the teamThe Language Support Capability Section manages the development of language support capabilities to support the work of Migrant English and Language Services (MELS) Branch within the Office for Multicultural Affairs, including the On Demand Web Translation (ODWT) service and MELS system.About the projectThe Migrant English and Language Services (MELS) Branch has numerous projects in train and requires an experienced Senior Project Manager to assist in the development and delivery of these works. This includes development, delivery and operation of the On Demand Web Translation (ODWT) capability through FY2026-27 to support Home Affairs translation requirements and the high demand for web content to be provided in-language as a trusted source of information to counter mis and dis-information within the CALD community, including language expansion and community engagement activities to support NEMA/National Security Hotline Campaign NPP translation requirements.About the organisationThe Department of Home Affairs is responsible for central coordination, and strategy and policy leadership in relation to cyber and critical infrastructure resilience and security, immigration, border security and management, counter-terrorism, the protection of our sovereignty and citizenship and social cohesion. Additionally, we contribute to Australia’s prosperity and unity through the management and delivery of the migration, humanitarian and refugee programs. We also promote social cohesion through multicultural programs, settlement services by managing and conferring citizenship.CriteriaThe buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters.Essential criteria1.Specialist knowledge in project management, including defining and managing scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities and ensuring that project deliverables are completed within agreed parameters, and are formally accepted,



by appropriate stakeholders.2.Highly developed interpersonal communication skills including the ability to successfully lead, manage and work with business and project teams to deliver on high intensity, high risk, high value projects.3.Strong capability in building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships both internally and externally of the project.4.Knowledge of organisational business processes and experience dealing with internal stakeholders to achieve project goals.5.Strong planning and organisational skills to manage, and prioritise, multiple tasks and deadlines.Desirable criteria1.3+ years’ practical application of Project Management skills working in medium to large work environments2.Specialist knowledge in managing the development, delivery and operation of a business-led web content translation service, including ability to undertake technical analysis and fixes.3.Ability to undertake responsibilities of managers when required to report on project progress in executive fora.Additional requirements1.Do you understand that your candidate must hold an AGSVA clearance and undergo an onboarding check prior to commencement? Seller will be required to meet the cost of any security clearances.2.Do you acknowledge the Department may advise of stand down periods to occur during holiday seasons. An illegal worker is anyone unlawfully present or working in breach of visa conditions.13.Please provide proof of current State or Territory Labour Hire Licence – ie, Licence number & Expiry date.
