As a key member of the leadership team, you will provide strategic direction while remaining closely connected to operational excellence, ensuring our products, processes, and systems consistently meet the highest standards. A critical aspect of this role is driving and embedding a strong Food Safety Culture across the organisation, fostering shared accountability, proactive risk management, and a quality-first mindset at all levels of the business.

What’s involved?

As Technical Manager, you will lead Quality, Food Safety, Technical Services, R&D;, Operational Risk, and Process Innovation across the group. Your responsibilities will include:

- Team Management: Lead and develop the Technical team across QA, QC, and Technical Services, driving capability, accountability, and alignment with business goals.

- Strategic Technical Leadership: Shape the technical direction of the business, driving quality, compliance, innovation, and risk management outcomes.

- Food Safety Culture: Drive culture change developing a positive food safety culture across the business embedding ownership, engagement and accountability at all levels.

- Process Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, product quality, and operational performance.

- Quality, Food Safety & Compliance: Manage quality and food safety systems, including SQF requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer,



and certification standards.

- Audits & Statutory Compliance: Lead internal and external audits, maintaining compliance with food safety, quality, environmental, and workplace requirements.

- Innovation & Product Development: Support product development and process innovation, working cross-functionally to deliver competitive and commercially successful outcomes.

- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships across the business collaborating with Senior Operations Managers and external stakeholders to drive technical excellence and achieve business objectives.

About You:

You are an experienced professional in Quality, Food Safety, and Compliance within FMCG manufacturing, ideally in the food, beverage or pharmaceutical sectors. You hold qualifications in Food Science, or a related field, and bring a robust background in process optimisation and operational efficiency.

Your success is driven by a strategic mindset and hands-on leadership style, complemented by excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. You are well-versed in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and project management, and your approach to decision-making is grounded in data and insight.
