Working within our Engineering & Maintenance Team at Sydney Trains, the primary purpose of the Program Manager role is to plan, coordinate and manage programs and/or projects, of a single or multi‑disciplined nature, within Major Works.
This role is accountable for delivery of project outcomes in line with the Major Works’ annual program of work. It manages project scope, cost, schedule, risk, quality, communications, and change controls.
- Plan and deliver work, closely monitoring time and cost, identifying when change occurs within programs and manage the Project Change Request (PCR) process in collaboration with stakeholders and clients.
- Complete the handover of projects and associated documents, including stakeholder sign‑off on scope delivery for all projects.
- Implement and ensure compliance with program governance requirements.
- Leverage Major Works’ assurance processes, policies and procedures to maintain visibility of compliance across your projects.
- Conduct regular checks and audits on project delivery quality outcomes with Project Engineers and Site Managers where appropriate.
- Undertake risk analysis for programs and projects in order to manage safety and commercial risks to facilitate decision making and risk mitigation.
- Manage the timely flow of information to suppliers throughout the project life cycle.
- Develop project management documentation including project plans, schedules, resource plans and requests with stakeholders.
- Ensure timely reporting to clients through providing regular project status reporting on forecast costs, project schedules, budget tracking, risks and issues and remedial actions, to relevant stakeholders.
