At Relationships Australia WA (RAWA), our purpose is to help people navigate life's challenges. Every day, our people support individuals, families and communities through counselling, family dispute resolution, family and domestic violence services, mental health support, financial wellbeing programs and community initiatives.

We're looking for an experienced and passionate First Nations Advisor to provide cultural leadership and strategic advice that strengthens cultural safety, supports our First Nations workforce, and deepens our relationships with First Nations communities across Western Australia.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape organisational culture and influence meaningful change across one of Western Australia's leading not-for-profit organisations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Manager People & Culture, you will provide trusted cultural advice and guidance to leaders across the organisation, helping to embed culturally protected practices into our policies, services and workplaces.

Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will:

- Lead and influence initiatives that strengthen cultural safety and inclusion.

- Support the implementation of RAWA's Reconciliation Action Plan and Cultural Safety Framework.

- Provide culturally informed advice to leaders and employees.

- Support the wellbeing, development and retention of First Nations employees.

- Build and maintain respectful relationships with First Nations communities, Elders and partner organisations.





- Contribute to organisational learning, continuous improvement and better outcomes for First Nations clients, staff and communities.

This role is influential and highly collaborative, providing expert cultural guidance while supporting the organisation to build capability and confidence in culturally safe practice.

About You

You are a respected First Nations professional who brings cultural knowledge, lived experience and strong relationship-building skills. You are comfortable working across all levels of an organisation and enjoy partnering with leaders to influence positive change.

You will bring:

- Strong knowledge of First Nations cultures, histories and protocols.

- Experience providing cultural advice or leading cultural safety initiatives.

- Excellent communication, facilitation and relationship-building skills.

- The ability to influence organisational practice through collaboration and trusted advice.

- A commitment to reconciliation, self-determination and improving outcomes for First Nations peoples.

- Experience working within community services, health, government or not-for-profit organisations will be highly regarded.

Relevant qualifications are desirable; however, we recognise that lived experience, cultural knowledge and demonstrated capability are equally valuable.
