MIGAS Apprentices & Trainees
Perth
MIGAS Limited is a progressive not-for-profit with a strong focus on growth and diversification across our suite of brands in the education, training and employment space.
We are seeking an Apprentice Workforce Advisor to service the Perth region in a field based role. This is a terrific opportunity to provide face-to-face client and employee support in our apprenticeship employment business. This is a full time role offering flexibility and an attractive career pathway with an option for part-time hours to suit the right candidate.
A day in the life
In this role you will be the key point of contact for a range of service outputs. This includes working with two key stakeholders – a local cohort of apprentices and trainees who we support through to completion of their training, and our clients (referred to as host employers) who develop the on-the-job skills of apprentices and trainees hosted at their workplace.
Each day will be a mix of administration, client support, employee communication and business development. Your day will involve monitoring and maintaining apprenticeship records along with visiting a range of host employer work sites to support apprentices on-the-job, across numerous industries and qualifications.
You will:
- Deal proactively with apprentice/trainee support needs which range from navigating on-the-job issues, juggling training commitments and managing what (for many) may be their first experience in the workforce
- Organising business development activities and meetings with prospective clients
- Proactively ensure you maintain and grow your local caseload to meet targets
- Coordinate training, apprentice inductions, and scheduling of host visits whilst upholding WHS requirements
- Attend host employer worksites to support apprentice commencement, orientation, and performance matters
- Ensure the administrative inputs for documenting and tracking each apprenticeship are recorded, accurate and always up to date
About you
We are an agile business with big ambition. But more importantly we like to do good work with positive people. That means we’ll look for team fit and attitude first, followed by skills and aptitude.
There’s no doubt about it – this role is the best of both worlds, requiring you to have a strong relationship management background, while also communicating professionally and responsively with both employees and clients.
You will be detail orientated with the ability to manage an allocated caseload, whilst achieving targets, adhering to deadlines, and prioritising workload.
You’ll enjoy the mix of quiet, focused administration together with jumping in the car to engage with clients. From time to time travel around the wider region will be required which can be planned and scheduled ahead of time.
To stand out you’ll need to be self-motivated, emotionally intelligent and demonstrate solid interpersonal and communication skills.
You may have developed your skills in different industries and varied roles, and not necessarily from within the apprenticeship training sector.
