You must be willing to undergo an organisational pre-employment assessment.
- A Pre-employment Screening Assessment (PSA) is a mandatory requirement to work in ONI, unless prior approval is provided by the Director-General and/or Deputy Director-General(s). The PSA is conducted to determine suitability to work in a high security workplace and the extent to which you are likely to meet the current needs of the organisation. This assessment includes behavioural and psychometric testing. No feedback will be provided on the outcome of the PSA to any applicant.
You must be willing to undergo a comprehensive security clearance suitability assessment.
- A security clearance is a qualifying condition of employment with ONI.
- To be considered suitable for a security clearance, we must establish that you possess and demonstrate the highest level of trustworthiness and commitment to Australia,
its values and its democratic system of government.
- Our security clearance process covers all aspects of your life – it is comprehensive and can seem intrusive. The national interest is the primary consideration in determining the outcome of a security clearance assessment.
- If you attain a security clearance, you are required to maintain your clearance for the term of your employment. You will be subject a wide range of responsibilities and obligations, some of which will impinge on your personal life. ONI will continuously review your ongoing clearance suitability.
- Further information will be provided as a candidate progresses through this process. But please note, we do not provide specific feedback about any aspect of our security processes.
You must be able to work at our Canberra office.
- Due to the nature of our work, we are unable to offer a remote working arrangement. If your application is successful, you will need to reside where a daily commute to our Canberra office, located in Barton ACT, is feasible.
