About The Role

Canberra Health Services (CHS) is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Consultant to join our dynamic Intensive Care Unit. As the ACT's sole tertiary teaching hospital, CHS delivers high‑quality, person‑centred care to a population of more than 650,000 people across Canberra and the surrounding region. The Intensive Care Unit is a 36‑bed Level 3 Territory Referral Centre, admitting over 2,700 patients annually. It is recognised for excellence in critical care, education, and research.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Nursing,



the Clinical Nurse Consultant will provide expert clinical leadership and operational support across the unit, coordinating patient flow, workforce management, staff performance, and service delivery while ensuring compliance with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. This role requires strong leadership, sound clinical expertise, and a commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and high‑quality care within a complex critical care setting.
