As our Environmental Health Officer you will play a vital role in protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of our community while preserving the natural environment that makes Bland Shire a great place to live, work and visit.

This is a diverse and rewarding position where no two days are the same. From inspecting food businesses and public facilities to investigating pollution incidents, resolving environmental issues and educating the community. You will enjoy a unique mix of field work, stakeholder engagement and regulatory decision making.

The role offers the autonomy to manage a wide-ranging workload with the support of a collaborative team and exposure to a broad range of environmental health disciplines. Every inspection completed, issue resolved and relationship built contributes to creating a safer, healthier and more sustainable community.

What we are looking for in you

- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Health, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- A sound understanding of environmental health legislation and regulatory practices.
- Strong investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills.




- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships and influence outcomes.
- Confidence managing competing priorities while working both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive, organised and adaptable approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- A passion for protecting public health, supporting local businesses and enhancing environmental outcomes.
- Class 'C' Driver Licence
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
