Position
Overview
The Reliability Systems Engineer will support the integration and execution of systems engineering activities relating to the reliability, verification and validation of Hanwha systems.
Working alongside experienced engineers, the Reliability Systems Engineer will contribute to reliability engineering activities across defence vehicle and platform programs while developing technical expertise within a collaborative engineering environment. The role provides exposure to systems engineering processes, Integrated Product Support (IPS), and complex defence capability development programs.
The Reliability Systems Engineer will be expected to develop an understanding of applicable legislative frameworks, customer requirements, and engineering standards relevant to their area of responsibility.
Primary
Duties
Support reliability engineering activities across defence vehicle and platform programs
Assist with systems engineering activities including requirements analysis and management, system safety, configuration management, verification and validation activities
Support the development, preparation and on-time delivery of Engineering DIDs and supporting documentation
Assist in evaluating delivered materiel against customer requirements and applicable legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks
Support reliability investigations, data analysis and reporting activities
Contribute to risk identification, monitoring and mitigation activities
Assist in ensuring safety considerations are incorporated into engineering activities and system solutions
Work collaboratively with the engineering and broader Hanwha team to deliver quality technical outcomes
Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Support collaboration with subcontractors and project partners to achieve high-quality deliverables
Tailor communication style and language to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Participate in career development activities to build technical and engineering capability
Other duties as required by the supervisor. Qualifications:
Mandatory
Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Systems, Aerospace, or a related Engineering discipline.
Desirable
Membership of, or eligibility for membership with, Engineers Australia.
Exposure to systems engineering principles or reliability engineering through university projects, internships or placements. Experience:
Up to 3 years of professional engineering experience, including internships, placements, graduate programs, or relevant industry experience.
Understanding of systems engineering and reliability engineering principles.
Knowledge of engineering lifecycle processes and technical documentation practices.
Exposure to requirements management, verification and validation, or systems engineering methodologies is desirable.
Interest in defence capability development and complex engineering systems.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with engineering software, data analysis tools or PLM systems is desirable.
