Research Sleep Scientist - Temporary part-time | 24 hours a week | 2 year fix term contract - Box Hill|Localcar parking + walkable to Box Hill Central for cafes and shops - Join our Sleep Medicine Research Program and contribute to cutting-edge sleep health research About the role The Research Sleep Scientist role will be based at the Sleep Laboratory Box Hill Hospital. The successful candidate will work as part of this dynamic research and clinical team to conduct a range of activities leading to the timely completion of research projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a health professional to be involved in clinical research in a major metropolitan hospital.
As part of the Sleep Medicine Research Program, the Research Sleep Scientist will support the coordination and implementation of the MRFF-funded SIMPLIFI-OSA study, which investigates the management of patients using limited-channel sleep testing compared with full polysomnography for the identification of obstructive sleep apnoea.
The Research Sleep
Scientist will support data collection in a clinical setting, perform data entry and analysis, and collaborate with research and clinical teams to ensure the timely delivery of research projects. The role also involves contributing to other research activities and evaluations, undertaking administrative responsibilities, and working closely with senior researchers and clinicians who will provide ongoing guidance, mentorship, and training. About you - Bachelor of Applied Science or equivalent - Relevant clinical experience in Sleep Study analysis and monitoring - Clinical and/or research skills, including experience participant recruitment, screening and enrolment,
liaising with study participants and administering data collection tools - Demonstrated capacity to adhere to ethical guidelines and project protocols - Ability to work autonomously with an analytical approach to troubleshooting Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice).
Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment. Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress provided they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
