Network Operations Manager
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading Australian energy organisation at the forefront of the energy transition. Operating across renewable energy, electrical infrastructure and distributed energy solutions, our client is delivering innovative microgrid and utility-scale projects that are reshaping the way electricity is generated, distributed and consumed.

Based in Perth, this permanent leadership position will play a critical role in overseeing the safe, reliable and efficient operation of electrical distribution networks, renewable energy assets and emerging energy technologies.

Role Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Network Operations Manager to lead the operational performance of a growing portfolio of electrical distribution networks and microgrid assets across Western Australia.

Reporting to a senior executive leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of network reliability, safety, compliance, customer service and operational excellence. Working closely with engineering, asset management, project delivery, commercial and customer teams, you will lead day-to-day network operations while supporting the successful delivery and integration of new energy infrastructure projects.

Essential Qualifications & Skills
• Leadership experience within utilities, power systems or electricity distribution
• Strong understanding of electrical network operations and asset management
• Experience managing HV distribution networks and associated infrastructure
• Knowledge of protection systems, metering, communications and SCADA
• Experience operating electrical infrastructure within regulated environments
• Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional leadership skills
• Commercial awareness with budgeting and financial management experience
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance and operational excellence
• Excellent problem-solving and continuous improvement capability
• Current Australian working rights

Desirable Experience
• Experience with Western Australian utility networks or infrastructure providers
• Exposure to renewable energy assets including solar and battery systems
• Previous responsibility for HV network operations and switching activities
• Experience supporting network commissioning and operational readiness programs
• Electrical nominee or Responsible HV Person experience
• Utility-scale power generation or microgrid experience
• Experience managing operational contractors and service providers
• Strong understanding of electrical regulatory and licence obligations
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
• Current WA Electrical Licence

Duties & Responsibilities




• Lead the safe and efficient operation of electrical distribution network assets
• Oversee day-to-day performance of network and microgrid infrastructure
• Manage network reliability, availability and operational performance outcomes
• Act as a key technical authority for network operations activities
• Support commissioning, energisation and operational handover of new assets
• Coordinate customer connections, acceptance testing and commissioning activities
• Monitor and manage protection systems, metering, communications and SCADA
• Oversee operational response to network incidents and emergency events
• Participate in critical escalation and network restoration processes
• Develop maintenance strategies to maximise asset life and reliability
• Manage contractors and service providers to achieve operational objectives
• Ensure compliance with electrical, safety and regulatory requirements
• Maintain switching procedures, operational manuals and emergency plans
• Support budgeting, forecasting and operational cost management activities
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across safety and network performance
• Collaborate with engineering, project and commercial teams to achieve business objectives
