About the role

Momentum Disability Support Co. is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our team in Geelong, VIC. This is a casual position offering flexibility whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disabilities. As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide essential support services to individuals with varying support needs, helping them to achieve their goals, maintain independence, and participate fully in their communities. This role is fundamental to our mission of delivering person-centred care and fostering inclusive communities.

What you'll be doing

- Providing personal care and daily living assistance to service users, including support with hygiene, grooming, dressing and meal preparation

- Supporting individuals to access community activities, attend appointments and participate in social and recreational programmes

- Assisting with mobility support

- Building positive relationships with service users and promoting their dignity, respect and choice

- Communicating effectively with service users, families, colleagues and other professionals to ensure consistent and coordinated care

- Maintaining accurate and timely records of support provided and any observations or concerns

- Supporting service users to develop life skills and work towards their individual goals and aspirations

- Responding to the changing needs of service users and adapting support accordingly

- Contributing to a safe and inclusive environment by adhering to health and safety protocols and duty of care requirements





- Attending training and development opportunities to maintain and enhance your skills and knowledge

What we're looking for

- Genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities and a commitment to person-centred care

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen actively and respond sensitively to individual needs

- Patience, empathy and a non-judgmental approach to supporting people from diverse backgrounds

- Reliability and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

- A working knowledge of disability support principles and a commitment to promoting individual rights and independence

- A current relevant First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain one

- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one if required)

- Current police clearance or willingness to undergo a police background check

- A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transport

- Qualifications in disability support, aged care, or related fields are advantageous but not essential
