Nocton Vineyard is seeking a motivated and reliable Machinery Operator to join our close-knit vineyard team.
Situated in the beautiful Coal River Valley, Nocton Vineyard is a premium cool-climate vineyard spanning approximately 35 hectares. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a small, dynamic team where your contribution will have a direct impact on the quality of our vineyard operations.
About the Role
Reporting to the Vineyard Manager and Assistant Vineyard Manager, you will be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance and care of a wide range of vineyard machinery and equipment. No two days are the same, and you'll be part of a team committed to producing premium fruit through efficient and safe vineyard practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate vineyard machinery including tractors, ATVs and harvesters.
- Operate a variety of attached implements including:
- Slashers
- Trimmers
- Spraying equipment
- Front-end loaders
- Other vineyard implements as required.
- Perform routine servicing, maintenance and daily checks on machinery.
- Assist with vineyard operations throughout the growing season.
- Work collaboratively with the vineyard team to achieve operational goals.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
On-site training can be provided for specialised vineyard equipment,
including the grape harvester.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have experience operating agricultural, vineyard or similar machinery.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safe machinery operation and maintenance.
- Be flexible and adaptable to changing weather conditions and seasonal priorities.
- Enjoy working as part of a small, hands-on team.
- Be willing to work additional hours during busy periods, including vintage and other peak operational times.
- Hold a current driver's licence.
The following qualifications will be highly regarded:
- ChemCert accreditation
- Forklift Licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Experience in vineyard operations or horticulture
