Job Title: Infrastructure Maintenance Crew Member
Location: Local Council

Employment Type: Casual (38hrs a week, with potential for full-time permanent positions)

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Infrastructure Maintenance Crew Member to join our Infrastructure Maintenance team. In this hands-on role, you will carry out a range of road and drainage maintenance activities, operate plant and equipment, and help maintain safe, functional and well-presented road infrastructure. Working both independently and as part of a team, you will deliver high-quality maintenance services while providing excellent customer service to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

- Undertake road and drainage maintenance works, including repairs to sealed and unsealed roads, table drains and minor infrastructure.
- Operate and maintain a range of plant and equipment, including trucks, water carts and other maintenance machinery.
- Inspect road assets, identify maintenance requirements and recommend appropriate works.
- Monitor and support contractors to ensure works are completed safely and to required standards.
- Complete maintenance records, timesheets and customer requests accurately and on time.
- Assist with the supervision and on-the-job training of apprentices, trainees and temporary staff when required.
- Maintain plant, tools and equipment in accordance with maintenance schedules and safety requirements.
- Deliver professional customer service when interacting with residents, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Work in accordance with workplace health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and legislation.




- Contribute to continuous improvement and sustainable maintenance practices.

Key Requirements:

- Experience undertaking road and drainage maintenance works.
- Experience operating trucks, water carts and other civil maintenance plant and equipment.
- Sound knowledge of road maintenance techniques, materials and traffic management requirements.
- Ability to operate machinery safely and maintain equipment to required standards.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices in a civil maintenance environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer service focus.
- Ability to identify hazards, assess risks and take appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment.
- Current Medium Rigid (MR) Driver Licence.
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in a range of weather conditions.
