Contractor hourly rate

$100/hr - $140/hr (Negotiable based on experience)

Role Description

The Senior Behavior Support Practitioner contractor is responsible for delivering evidence-based behaviour support services to participants, their families, and support networks. In this contract, hybrid role based in Melbourne, VIC, the practitioner will conduct functional behaviour assessments, develop and implement behaviour support plans, and provide coaching and training to support workers and caregivers. Day-to-day tasks include working closely with participants to understand their needs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams,



ensuring all plans meet NDIS and relevant regulatory standards, and maintaining accurate documentation and progress reports. The practitioner will monitor outcomes, review and update plans, and contribute to continuous improvement of service delivery and clinical governance.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated expertise in functional behaviour assessment, positive behaviour support, and development of behaviour support plans.
- Current registration or membership with an appropriate professional body (where applicable) and eligibility as a Core or Proficient NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner.
- Strong skills in person-centered practice, trauma-informed care, and safeguarding the rights and dignity of people with disability.
- Proficiency in report writing, documentation, and case management, with attention to detail and regulatory compliance (including NDIS requirements).
- Effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to train and coach families, support workers, and other professionals.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Education, or related allied health or human services field.
- Experience working within disability, community, or allied health services, ideally in behaviour support and complex needs.
- Knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards, restrictive practices framework, and relevant legislation in Victoria.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a hybrid environment, with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Current Working With Children Check, NDIS Workers screening check, First aid, CPR, Infection control and valid driver’s license, with willingness to travel
