Director of Studies (Academic Quality & Innovation)

Elite College of English (ECE) is seeking an exceptional educational leader to join our leadership team.

This is not a traditional Director of Studies role.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Principal & Principal Executive Officer, you will lead the academic quality, innovation and educational excellence of Elite College of English.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

- Lead the academic direction of the College.
- Foster a culture of excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Inspire and mentor teachers.
- Build a high‑performing academic team.
- Support future academic leaders.
- Lead the continuous improvement of Primary School Preparation, High School Preparation, Academic English, Holiday Programs, Study Tours, and Teacher Professional Learning.
- Ensure curriculum aligns with CEFR,



Australian educational expectations, NSW curriculum where appropriate, and independent school expectations.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and coach teaching staff.
- Lead professional learning.
- Build a collaborative teaching culture.
- Develop teacher capability and leadership.

Student Success

- Work collaboratively with Admissions and Student Success teams to ensure every student reaches their full academic potential.
- Monitor academic progress and school readiness.
- Use evidence and data to continually improve student learning.

Academic Quality

- Develop and oversee placement testing, assessment systems, student reporting, academic moderation, and academic quality assurance.
- Drive a culture of evidence‑based improvement.

Compliance

- Maintain compliance with National Code, CRICOS, and ASQA requirements while ensuring academic quality remains at the heart of everything we do.

About You

You are an educational leader with energy, drive and genuine enthusiasm for helping teachers and students succeed. You continually look for better ways of doing things and want to contribute to an organization that believes education should transform lives.

Requirements:

- Degree in Education, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated educational leadership experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following: ELICOS, International Schools, University Pathway Providers, Foundation Colleges.
- Strong curriculum and assessment knowledge.
- Experience mentoring teachers.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.




- Outstanding organisational ability.
- A growth mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.

Highly Desirable

- Experience with CEFR, Academic English, AEAS Preparation.
- Educational technology, AI in Education.
- International education.
