Banpu Energy Australia (BEN) is an integrated energy company operating across Australia's National Electricity Market (NEM). Our business spans three core business units:

Energy Trading – ASX24 and OTC electricity, environmental products and structured derivatives Renewable Assets – Solar Farms and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Retail C&I; – Commercial and Industrial electricity retailing As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a highly motivated Risk Analyst to support our Market Risk, Operational Risk and Risk Analytics functions.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside traders, asset managers, commercial teams and senior management while helping build one of Australia's leading integrated energy risk management functions.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Head of Risk, you will play a key role in analysing, monitoring and improving risk management across BEN's trading, renewable generation and retail businesses.

You will gain exposure to:

Energy trading and derivatives Solar farms and BESS operations Electricity retail portfolio management Market analytics Risk modelling Operational risk Data engineering Automation and dashboard development This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, building analytical tools and using technology to improve business outcomes.

Skills & Experience

Essential

Degree in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science,



Data Science or a related discipline. Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Excellent problem-solving ability.

Strong

Python programming skills. Advanced SQL skills.

Experience working with large datasets.

Excellent

Excel skills. Strong attention to detail. Self-motivated with a proactive, "can-do" attitude. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
