Lead with purpose. Shape progress for a growing city.
This is a term contract, full-time opportunity for up to 12 months to join Council's Safety team as a Safety Lead. Working closely with operational teams and leaders, you help strengthen Council’s work health and safety culture by providing practical advice, supporting the resolution of WHS issues and identifying opportunities to improve how we work.
Based primarily at Rooty Hill Depot, you work closely with employees across Council’s operations. You monitor and review the WHS incident register, investigate incidents, participate in workplace inspections and audits, and follow corrective actions through to completion. You review safety data, identify trends and help ensure WHS records, reports and documentation are accurate and up to date.
You support the implementation and continuous improvement of Council’s WHS policies, procedures and systems. You work with managers, employees, contractors and Health and Safety Representatives to address workplace changes, safety risks and training needs. You observe work practices, recommend practical ways to reduce risk and promote secure behaviours across the organisation.
Your work helps maintain the systems, processes and standards that keep our people safe every day. If you are passionate about workplace safety,
communicate well and enjoy working in a dynamic environment, we encourage you to apply.
