Grade Control / Pit Technician - FIFO

We're currently seeking an experienced Grade Control / Pit Technician to join a well-established Iron Ore Mining Operation on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.

This is a hands-on Grade Control / Pit Technician position where you'll work closely with the Mine Geologists and Mining Team to support daily mining operations. Due to the size of the operation, this is a varied role that offers plenty of exposure across geology and mining activities. We're looking for someone who is self-motivated, enjoys working in the field, takes pride in their work, and is willing to get involved wherever needed to support the team.

- Immediate start

- Flat Pay Rate - $55 per hour plus super

- 8/6 roster (Friday to Friday)

- 12-hour day shifts only

- Contract through until the end of December

- Approximately one-hour charter flight from Perth

- Airport located close to site

- Approximately 10-minute drive from camp to site

- Accommodation and all meals provided

- Modern camp with excellent facilities including a gym, wet mess, recreation areas and quality Wi-Fi

- Small operation with only two grade control drill rigs and a close-knit workforce where everyone works together

About the Role

Working closely with the Mine Geologists, you'll play a key role in supporting grade control and daily mining activities. This is a varied position suited to someone who enjoys working in the field and is happy to assist wherever required.





Your responsibilities will include:

- Collecting and managing grade control samples from blast hole drilling

- Conducting drill collar pick-ups and accurately recording field information

- Supporting grade control drilling activities while working safely around active drill rigs

- Assisting with ore spotting and grade control to support mining operations

- Monitoring and inspecting bores, turkey nests and other field infrastructure

- Assisting Mine Geologists with daily field activities

- Completing field records and associated documentation

- Providing general technical support across geology and mining operations

- Maintaining a strong commitment to safety, communication and housekeeping standards

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience as a Grade Control Technician, Pit Technician, Geology Technician or Mine Technician

- Experience with blast hole grade control sampling in an open pit mining environment

- A sound understanding of grade control sampling and ore control processes

- Experience working within an open pit mining environment

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices

- Current manual driver's licence

- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision

- A reliable, motivated attitude and willingness to be part of a team
