Looking for something different to the usual restaurant grind? If you’ve just finished your apprenticeship (or you’re early in your chef career) and you’re keen to build real production skills in a fast-paced aviation workplace, this could be a great next step!

Inflight Services Australia - Sky Snacks operates out of Townsville Airport, supplying regular passenger transport (RPT) services, charter flights, and occasional functions/other catering operations. In TSV we run 8 rotating menus, so you’ll get variety and strong exposure to structured, high-standard food production.

What you’ll be doing

- Preparing and assembling inflight meals across multiple menus

- Working to strict food safety and aviation compliance requirements

- Completing (and learning) flight catering paperwork and dispatch requirements (training provided)

- Following production plans, portion control, labelling, and packing standards

- Supporting occasional non-aviation catering for functions/events as required

Food safety + digital skills (important)

We’re serious about HACCP—and we run it digitally. You’ll be working with the Didge Food Safety platform, including:





- Smart technologies and automated monitoring

- Vision AI checks

- Temperature sensors and digital records

If you’re comfortable with tech (or you learn quickly), you’ll do well here.

What we’re looking for

- Qualified Chef (recently completed apprenticeship welcome)

- Strong hygiene and food safety mindset

- Good basic computer/digital skills

- Reliable, organised, and able to work to timelines

- Team player who takes pride in consistent quality

Hours & pay

- 38 hours per week

- Weekly pay

- Daytime hours only: Monday to Friday, 0600–1400 (5-day roster)

- Occasional weekend/public holiday work may be required, subject to operational requirements
