About the Role
The Power Platform Specialist is a hands-on, role responsible for establishing a sustainable Power Platform practice and Centre of Excellence (CoE) within Enterprise Platforms. Working in an Agile environment, the role partners with product owners, platform teams, cybersecurity, vendors and business stakeholders to design, build and govern low-code solutions that deliver effective, secure and innovative outcomes across the University.
Operating at the intersection of technology and end-user needs, the Power Platform Specialist will define and embed the governance framework, standards and guardrails for Power Apps, Power Automate and Copilot Studio, while personally delivering production-grade solutions. The role also provides guidance and uplift to UTS makers and functional analysts, helping to scale safe, well-managed adoption of the Power Platform and Microsoft Copilot agents.
As a practice-establishing role, the Power Platform Specialist is expected to lead initiatives independently, set the technical direction for low-code and agent development, and leave behind a documented, repeatable and governed capability that UTS can operate beyond the contract term.
About You
As the Power Platform Specialist, you will have:
- Completion of an IT related degree or diploma and relevant experience; or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Extensive, demonstrable hands-on experience delivering solutions with the Microsoft Power Platform, including advanced use of Power Apps (canvas apps) and Power Automate in enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated experience implementing Power Platform governance - workplace strategy, DLP policies, ALM and the CoE Starter Kit / Power Platform admin centre.
- Practical exposure to Microsoft Copilot Studio, including building and extending agents and applying agent management, security and governance controls.
- Experience designing and securing Dataverse data models and integrating solutions across Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook) and line- of- business systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and collaborate with business and technology stakeholders, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Sound understanding of cybersecurity best practices and the ability to design low-code and AI solutions that adhere to strict security and data-privacy requirements.
- Experience working in an agile environment, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver outcomes iteratively.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, enable and uplift others, fostering a collaborative, positive and productive maker community.

Remuneration
Base Salary Range: $143,080 - $149,894 pa (HEW 9)
This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.
