We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IVF Laboratory Technician to join our team at Fertility Tasmania. This role supports the day-to-day operations of the embryology laboratory, ensuring a high standard of laboratory practice, quality assurance, and patient care. Working closely with our embryologists and clinical team, you will contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, media, and consumables.
- Perform routine laboratory procedures in accordance with established protocols and quality standards.
- Monitor, clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
- Manage inventory, stock levels, and ordering of laboratory supplies.
- Assist with specimen handling and laboratory workflows under the direction of senior laboratory staff.
- Adhere to all quality management, infection control, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
- Support the embryology team to ensure optimal laboratory performance and patient outcomes.
About You
- Qualification in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related scientific discipline.
- Previous laboratory experience is desirable; experience in an IVF or fertility laboratory is highly regarded but not essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in a rapid-paced, highly regulated environment while maintaining accuracy.
