The Position:
Wallis Drilling are seeking a HSE Advisor to service Drilling Teams within our Exploration Division. The role is field based (WA and Eastern States) however requires some time spent at the Hazelmere Head Office and will service multiple clients and projects. The successful candidate will be paid a competitive salary based on skills, experience and agreed roster. Rosters that may be considered are 14:7 and 12:9.
As a HSEQ Advisor, your duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Assist with identifying and assessing risks and implementing effective controls using robust critical analysis and review skills
- Effectively communicate HSEQ issues to all levels of personnel in a timely manner
- Participate in and / or conduct Incident Investigations
- Ability to conduct HSE Audits
- Assisting in ensuring Wallis Drilling meets requirements in alignment with client expectations
- Assist and participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of companywide initiatives and projects
- Conduct in-field safety leadership activities i.e documented Safety Interactions, Task Observations and Critical Control Verifications
- Coach Supervisors and crews to build proactive safety culture and improve critical risk management
- Deliver health,
safety and environment awareness sessions / toolbox meetings to workers
- Review and update safe work procedures / instructions and other documentation where required
- A passion for continuous improvement supported by critical analysis and review skills
- Work with the other HSE Advisors and Training Advisors to create consistent delivery and assessment of training across the business
- Assist with developing, delivering and assessing employee competencies (VOC Training tools and Inductions)
The Candidate:
To be considered for this position, it is essential you have all of the following (as a minimum):
- Be self-driven and have the ability to work autonomously
- Be prepared to work in a variety of environments i.e work in remote locations such as exploration drill sites
- Certificate IV in OHS / WHS (or working towards completion)
- Must be team focused
- Intermediate computer skills (MS Office Suite)
- Ability to write and review reports based on findings
- ICAM qualifications
- Residency in Perth, Western Australia
- Be physically fit, healthy and able to pass a Pre-Employment Medical including ongoing Medicals and DAS
- “C” Class drivers’ license
- Current National Police Clearance
Desirable Skills or Qualifications:
- Certificate IV TAE
- Certificate II or III in Drilling Operations
- Exposure to auditing
- Testing and Tagging
- Drug and Alcohol testing
- Provide First Aid
- Four-Wheel Drive Certificate
- Exposure to the drilling and / or mining industry
