As a team member you will be contributing to the sustainable supply of rare earths metals which are used in oil & gas, electric vehicles, and wind turbines.
Lynas Rare Earths is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to lead mine planning and optimisation activities, ensuring the protected, cost-effective, and efficient extraction of ore while supporting operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a FIFO position from Perth to our Mt Weld Operations on an 8/6 roster.
As a highly valued member of the Lynas Rare Earths team, you will:
Develop and maintain short, medium,
and longer-term mine plansMonitor mining performance and report against operational targetsProvide technical support to daily mining and production activitiesReview and approve contractor drill and blast plansAnalyse mining costs and identify operational improvement opportunitiesSupport contractor management and ensure compliance with mining contract requirementsConduct inspections and audits in line with Lynas safety standardsParticipate in incident investigations and safety improvement initiativesLiaise closely with geology and operations teams to support accurate ore extractionMentor and develop mining department personnel
What You Will Bring To The Team
Tertiary qualification in Mining EngineeringWA Manual Driver’s Licence requiredQuarry Manager Ticket desirableExtensive experience within open pit mining operations in a similar roleStrong drill and blast design experienceExperience using Surpac, MinSched, MPX, Pronto, and MS OfficeStrong mine planning, analytical, and reporting capabilityExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work collaboratively and manage competing priorities
