About The Role

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Labourer / Forklift Operator to join our team in Slade Point, Mackay QLD.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, this hands-on role is responsible for safely operating forklifts and overhead cranes, receiving and dispatching goods, maintaining inventory, and providing workshop support for the assembly, maintenance, and refurbishment of mining and materials handling equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong forklift experience who enjoys working in a busy workshop and warehouse workplace while contributing to the successful delivery of projects for the mining industry.

Key Responsibilities

Receive incoming goods and inspect for damage and discrepanciesLoad and unload trucks safely and efficientlyUnload containers and place stock into designated storage areasPick, pack, and prepare orders to customer specificationsMaintain stock levels and consumable inventoriesConduct cycle counts and inventory checksEnsure accurate storage and identification of parts and materialsOperate forklifts and overhead cranes in a safe and compliant mannerWorkshop & Labouring SupportAssist with assembly and disassembly of mining and materials handling equipmentSupport maintenance and repair activities on fixed and mobile plantPerform minor welding, fabrication, painting,



and cleaning dutiesEnsure steel and materials are correctly identified and markedMaintain a clean, organised, and efficient workshop and steel yardAssist tradespeople and workshop personnel as requiredFollow all WHS policies, procedures, and safe work practices

Essential

Current Driver's LicenceHigh Risk Forklift LicenceMinimum 5 years' experience operating forkliftsPrior experience operating overhead cranesPrevious stores, warehouse, or workshop experience within mining, manufacturing, engineering, or materials handling industriesStrong commitment to workplace safetyAbility to perform manual handling and physical workExcellent communication and teamwork skillsStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsReliable work ethic with a willingness to support multiple areas of the business
