AC3
New South Wales
At AC3, our purpose is simple: make technology real. We help Australian organisations turn technology into practical, measurable business outcomes - not slideware, jargon or theoretical nonsense.
We are an Australian-owned ICT provider working with enterprise, corporate and government customers across cloud, security, networking, professional services and managed services. Our culture is built around the AC3 Way:
Work Wise, Work Humble and Work Honest.
The chance
We are looking for a hands-on Splunk Consultant to join our Professional Services team and deliver practical, customer-facing consulting across Splunk Core Platform and/or Enterprise Security, with a developing focus on Observability.
You will be close to the tools, close to the customer and close to the outcome - running discovery, configuring solutions, implementing use cases, producing technical documentation and helping customers translate Splunk capability into business value.
You will be deployed to customer engagements on a daily-rate basis, with an expectation of four days per week client billable work, delivered onsite or remotely depending on customer requirements.
What you will be doing
- Deliver hands-on Splunk consulting including discovery, configuration, implementation, optimisation and support transition.
- Configure and implement Splunk Core Platform and/or Enterprise Security across customer environments.
- Work across data onboarding, indexing, sourcetypes, field extractions, lookups, dashboards, alerts, knowledge objects and use cases.
- Apply architecture thinking to produce practical designs, implementation plans, runbooks and handover documentation.
- Translate technical concepts, risks and trade-offs into clear business language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Support presales, technical discovery, proof-of-concept activity,
proposals and Statements of Work where required.
- Contribute to reusable consulting assets, accelerators, best-practice patterns and AC3's growing Splunk capability.
- Build strong customer relationships and operate as a trusted advisor across enterprise, corporate and government accounts.
What you will bring
- Previous consulting, professional services or client-facing delivery experience, ideally with an MSP, systems integrator, vendor or consultancy provider.
- Hands-on Splunk configuration and implementation experience in production or enterprise customer environments.
- Experience with Splunk Core Platform and/or Splunk Enterprise Security.
- Strong practical capability across SPL, dashboards, alerts, indexes, forwarders, sourcetypes, field extractions, lookups, CIM/data models and search performance.
- The ability to communicate clearly with technical teams, project stakeholders and business people.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to operate with autonomy in billable client engagements.
- Strong written communication skills, including technical designs, configuration records, runbooks, handover documents and engagement status reporting.
- A pragmatic, customer-focused approach with the confidence to solve problems, make recommendations and keep delivery moving.
Nice to have
- Architecture or solution design experience across Splunk deployment patterns, data ingestion,
security/observability use cases and integration landscapes.
- Splunk Observability, ITSI or SOAR experience - or a genuine appetite to learn Observability quickly.
- Experience with Enterprise Security use cases including correlation searches, notable events, threat detection, risk-based alerting and SOC workflows.
- Exposure to cloud, infrastructure, applications, networking, security operations, DevOps or SRE environments.
- Relevant Splunk certifications such as Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin, Architect, Consultant, Enterprise Security or Observability certifications.
- ITIL, cloud, cyber security, DevOps, SRE or related vendor certifications.
Why this role is worth a look
- You will get genuine hands-on delivery, not just endless meetings about delivery.
- You will work with customers where Splunk matters to security, operations, observability and business-critical decision-making.
- You will help shape repeatable consulting offerings across Core Platform, Enterprise Security and Observability.
- You will join a team that values practical outcomes, clear communication and people who can make complex technology feel usable.
The AC3 way
