About Canungra Health Centre
Canungra Health Centre is located a short drive from the Gold Coast and on Kokoda Barracks. This is where officers and soldiers in the Australian Army Intelligence Corps complete their initial employment training, and all-corps training is conducted throughout officer and soldier careers.
It was established in 1942 for Army jungle warfare and infantry training. It was closed from 1948-1954, however reactivated during the Vietnam War. Services provided include primary medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health and pharmaceutical services.
Standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday - Friday
What you'll do
- Deliver high-quality mental health care to Defence members.
- Conducting fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.
- Undertaking assessments, interventions, managing medications, formulating treatment and care plans for individuals and group education sessions.
- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical workplace where patient wellness is paramount.
What You Bring
- Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- One of the following: ACMHN credentialed, Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing, Mental Health trained nurse / UK trained undergraduate Mental Health Nurse
- Minimum two years' Post RN general registration experience within last five years in mental health within a Primary Healthcare Setting or Specialist Mental Health Setting.
- Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in 'Focussed Psychological Strategies' and 'Psychological Therapy' as per Medicare Schedule.
- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009).
- Australian Citizenship required to obtain Baseline Security Clearance.
- Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care.
