Position Title - Welder

Employment Type - Full-time

Salary Offered – AUD 80,000 to 85,000

Location - Campbellfield VIC 3061

We need qualified, experienced and reliable Welder to join our team as an employee. You will be responsible for the fabrication and welding of steel chassis and structural components used in the manufacture of caravans. The position plays a critical role in ensuring caravan chassis are manufactured accurately, safely and efficiently to support production schedules and customer requirements.

Main Tasks:

Study engineering drawings, blueprints, welding procedures and technical specifications to determine job requirements.
Select, inspect, measure, prepare and mark out metal materials for fabrication and welding.
Cut, shape, bevel and prepare metal sections using hand tools, grinders, flame cutting equipment, plasma cutters and mechanical cutting machines.
Set up and operate welding equipment for MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), Stick (SMAW), Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) and other approved welding processes as required.
Align, clamp and position components accurately using jigs, fixtures, measuring instruments and hand tools prior to welding.
Weld ferrous and non-ferrous metals to fabricate structural steel, machinery components, pipes, tanks and other fabricated products.
Monitor welding parameters and adjust equipment settings to achieve required weld quality and minimise distortion.




Inspect completed welds to verify bead profile, penetration, alignment and dimensional accuracy, identifying and rectifying defects where necessary.
Clean, grind, polish and finish welded surfaces to meet customer specifications and quality standards.
Carry out repairs and maintenance welding on damaged or worn components.
Maintain and clean tools and workspaces.
Follow workplace health and safety practices and procedures at all times.

Apply if you have:

At least one year of verifiable relevant work experience along with a Certificate III in in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent qualification. In absence of relevant qualification, you will need at least 3 years of verifiable work experience.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.
Competence in multiple welding processes including MIG, TIG and Stick welding.
Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, welding symbols and measuring equipment.
Ability to produce high-quality welds with minimal supervision.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Solid commitment to workplace safety and quality assurance.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
