The Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to support the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of complex technology and Defence-related programs across multiple client engagements.
This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and reporting on integrated project and program schedules that underpin successful delivery outcomes. Working closely with Project Managers, Program Managers, Delivery Leads, technical teams, and client stakeholders, you will ensure delivery activities are effectively planned, monitored, and aligned to key milestones and business objectives.
The successful candidate will manage schedules across a portfolio of projects, providing critical insights into delivery progress, dependencies, risks, and resource requirements. You will play an important role in supporting decision-making through accurate schedule reporting, governance support, and proactive schedule management.
In addition to delivery scheduling, you will occasionally support business development activities by contributing to bid schedules, implementation plans, and transition timelines for new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project and program schedules across multiple client engagements.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Program Managers, Delivery Managers, and technical teams to capture,
sequence, and schedule delivery activities.
- Establish and maintain project baselines, milestones, dependencies, critical paths, and schedule performance metrics.
- Monitor schedule performance, identify risks and bottlenecks, and assess impacts to delivery timelines.
- Produce schedule reports, dashboards, forecasts, and progress updates for internal and client stakeholders.
- Provide scheduling support to governance forums, steering committees, and project review boards.
- Ensure alignment between project schedules, resource plans, and delivery priorities.
- Coordinate schedule updates, change requests, and impact assessments across multiple workstreams.
- Facilitate planning workshops, schedule reviews, and stakeholder planning sessions.
- Build effective working relationships with delivery teams, client representatives, and executive stakeholders.
- Support multiple concurrent projects and programs within a rapid-paced consulting environment.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of scheduling standards, reporting practices, and planning methodologies.
- Support proposal and bid activities through the development of implementation schedules, transition plans, and delivery timelines.
- Review and validate proposed delivery schedules to ensure they are realistic, achievable, and aligned to client expectations.
What You'll Need
- Demonstrated experience as a Project Scheduler, Program Scheduler,
PMO Scheduler, or similar delivery planning role.
- Strong experience developing and managing integrated project and program schedules in complex environments.
- Experience working within Defence, Federal Government, or highly regulated environments.
- Advanced knowledge of scheduling methodologies, critical path analysis, milestones, dependencies, and project controls.
- Experience using scheduling and project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of project and program delivery lifecycles.
- Experience supporting governance, reporting, and executive stakeholder engagement activities.
- Ability to identify schedule risks, impacts, and opportunities for optimisation.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with delivery teams and stakeholders.
- Experience supporting bids, proposals, or transition planning activities is highly desirable.
