We are seeking a Security Advisor to join a high-performing Protective Security team in Canberra, providing day-to-day security support across a range of protective security disciplines.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate holding a current Positive Vetting (PV) clearance to further develop their career within the Defence Industry. Your new role Reporting to the Senior Security Advisor, you will provide operational security support and subject matter expertise across a range of protective security functions.
Your responsibilities will include
- Providing advice across security governance, personnel, physical, communications and information security disciplines
- Supporting Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) obligations and Security Officer functions
- Assisting with the maintenance of external security accreditations, licences and compliance requirements
- Preparing incident reports and liaising with relevant external agencies
- Reviewing and updating security policies, procedures and governance documentation
- Managing security administration activities and security-related records
- Supporting the management of security systems, access controls, CCTV, alarms, key management and secure storage arrangements
- Building effective relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors and government agencies What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A current AGSVA Positive Vetting (PV) security clearance
- Experience working within a Defence or Defence Industry environment
- Knowledge and experience across one or more protective security disciplines
- Understanding of PSPF, DISP, AGSVA clearance processes and security risk management principles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare high-quality reports and documentation
- Experience managing security systems, visitor management, access control or related security operations
- Relevant security qualifications such as Certificate III/IV in Security Operations, Defence Security Officer training or equivalent.
