Role Description The Security Engineer at Lu Reis - Educação e Desenvolvimento will design, implement, and maintain security controls across applications, networks, and cloud environments. In this part-time remote role, the Security Engineer will perform security assessments, monitor systems for vulnerabilities and threats, and respond to security incidents.
Responsibilities include collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to embed security best practices, reviewing code and configurations, and supporting secure architecture decisions. The role also involves documenting security procedures, ensuring alignment with relevant standards and regulations, and recommending improvements to strengthen the organization’s security posture.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess solid skills in Security Engineering and Cybersecurity, including designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls.
Candidates should possess solid Application Security skills, such as secure coding practices,
code review, and application vulnerability assessment.
Candidates should possess Network Security skills, including firewall configuration, intrusion detection/prevention, and secure network design.
Candidates should possess Information Security skills, including risk assessment, policy development, and data protection principles.
Experience with security tools (e.g., vulnerability scanners, SIEM, endpoint protection) and common security frameworks or standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST) is beneficial.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH, CISSP, or equivalent) and experience working in remote, collaborative environments are advantageous.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, clear written and verbal communication, and the capacity to work independently in a part-time setting are required.
