Senior Analyst, AML Compliance (Fixed Term) – Sydney, Australia The Senior Analyst, AML Compliance is under general supervision from senior management, this position supports the development, implementation and enforcement of policies, procedures and programs designed to minimise potential compliance risk for Western Union Australia and its affiliates, within the established strategies and mandate of the compliance team in line with regulatory obligations and expectations. An opportunity to join Western Union’s Compliance Team on a full-time basis for a 24-month period.
Role Responsibilities: Provide assistance to compliance managers and leaders in the development and execution of strategies, goals, initiatives, processes and controls. Help design, deliver, manage and/or coordinate AML/CTF compliance requirements for assigned processes and controls, and ensure the required quality level is achieved. Support management with project management and reporting.
Support other internal and external stakeholders in complying with company compliance policies and procedures. Evaluate process and control effectiveness through transaction analyses, testing, reviews and training sessions.
Role Requirements: Experience: 3+ years of experience in AML/CTF compliance, preferably in the areas of transaction monitoring, investigation and regulatory reporting.
Skills: Practical knowledge of Australian AML/CTF regulations, AUSTRAC guidance and industry better practices; ability to apply audit standards, sound professional judgment, risk assessment, stakeholder management, clear communication, and a consistent focus on quality and well-documented work.
Education:
A degree in commerce, business, law, finance, risk, compliance, or equivalent. Ability to adapt working hours to prioritise interactions with global stakeholders located in other jurisdictions as required. Proven ability to work autonomously with high level of attention to detail as well as contribute in a team setting alongside other risk, compliance and project management personnel.
