Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Skilled Labourer/Gutter Cleaning Technician to join our friendly, results-driven Perth team on a full time basis.
This role will involve performing general maintenance, labouring, and gutter cleaning services across commercial, industrial, and government properties throughout the Perth metropolitan area. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality workmanship while maintaining a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
You will primarily undertake gutter cleaning activities, while also assisting with roof plumbing works including minor roof repairs, flashing installation, guttering repairs, downpipe replacements, site preparation, clean-up activities, and the safe handling of tools and materials while working at heights.
The role will support government maintenance contracts, requiring attendance at various sites both north and south of the river. A company vehicle will be provided for work-related travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform professional gutter cleaning services across commercial, industrial, and government properties
- Complete general maintenance and skilled labouring tasks across various sites
- Assist roof plumbers as a second person during Working at Heights activities.
- Support minor roof plumbing works, including repairs, flashing installation, guttering, and downpipe replacements.
- Carry out minor demolition, site preparation, and general labouring duties
- Safely load, unload, and transport tools and materials
- Maintain clean, organised, and safe work areas
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and site requirements
- Participate in an on-call roster when required
About You
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, practical skills, and experience working in commercial maintenance or construction environments. You will be safety-focused, reliable, and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as a Trade Assistant or Labourer
- Current Driver’s Licence
- National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Construction White Card
- Valid Working at HeightsCertification
- Basic hand and power tool knowledge
- Ability to work safely at height and follow instructions
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Physically fit and reliable with strong work ethic
- Experience recording job details, materials, and time on an iPad is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience in commercial, or government maintenance environments
- Previous experience assisting trades such as roofing, carpentry, or painting
- Working @ Heights Certification
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Certification
- First Aid/CPR Certification
