SERVICE TECHNICIAN (CHEMICAL PROCESS ANALYST)

Mount Isa region: deliver on‑site water treatment service and technical support to customers, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of water treatment systems.

Responsibilities

- Monitor and maintain chemical stock levels for cooling, boiler, and wastewater treatment systems, including ordering chemicals and coordinating empty drum disposal.
- Conduct routine sampling and testing of cooling and boiler water systems, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Record test results and system data accurately in DrewTrax or other designated record‑keeping systems.
- Inspect, maintain, clean, and troubleshoot chemical dosing and monitoring equipment.
- Build solid relationships with site maintenance teams through regular communication and support.
- Collect and dispatch biological samples and perform cooling tower cleaning or supervise cleaning activities as required.
- Install and retrieve corrosion coupons to support water treatment monitoring.
- Identify and report water or chemical leaks, equipment faults, and other abnormal conditions.
- Carry out equipment recalibration, reprogramming, and manual chemical dosing when required.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety,



and documentation across all site activities.

Competencies & Requirements

- Demonstrates safe work practices and can identify hazards.
- Experience with boilers, cooling towers, or both.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Self‑starter with ability to manage and prioritise own workload.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake tasks of a repetitive nature.
- Good eye for detail.
- Good verbal communication and ability to liaise with customers.
- Potential to develop into account manager role.
- Ability to travel and current driver’s licence.
- Trade certificate or degree in Chemistry/Science highly regarded.
