ARRA Group is seeking experienced Surveyors & Senior Surveyors for ongoing work with immediate starts available!

Position / Role: Senior Surveyor

Project / Location: Option for Regional & Remote Work

Project Duration: Ongoing

Start date: Immediately

Roster: Regional: Mon – Fri, Remote – Rostered options available.

Role requirements:

As the Surveyor, you will report to the Geospatial Manager and play a key role in providing accurate and reliable surveying support throughout all phases of project delivery. You will be responsible for conducting field surveys, interpreting design data, preparing as-built documentation, and ensuring all surveying activities align with project specifications, safety standards, and client expectations. This role is critical in ensuring precision in construction, minimising risk, and supporting the successful execution of complex marine works.

- Conducting field survey activities including topographic, construction layout, end-of-month reporting, and as-built surveys in line with project schedules, specifications, and quality standards.

- Managing the inventory, maintenance, and calibration of surveying equipment to ensure reliability and accuracy on-site.

- Delivering all surveying requirements in compliance with HSEQ standards and project timelines.

- Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to identify design changes, assess impacts, and provide accurate measurements and advice to the site team.

- Identifying and implementing innovative and cost-effective surveying solutions.

- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to develop effective survey plans that meet project needs.

- Supervising and mentoring junior and graduate surveyors to support professional development and team performance.

- Analysing survey data to produce accurate maps, models, and reports for project planning and decision-making.

- Preparing and reviewing project-specific SWMS and supporting a culture of secure work practices.





- Participating in and contributing to HSEQ reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required experience:

- Relevant experience within the Civil and Infrastructure industry.

- Proficiency in surveying software and equipment, including Total Stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and data processing software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).

Qualifications / licenses required:

Mandatory:

- Work Rights

- 100 points of ID

- Police clearance

- Drivers licence

- MUST hold valid Australian Working Rights

Project/ Position specific:

- White Card

- Tertiary study in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering or related field Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma (preferred).

- Remote Pilots Licence (RePL) and Aviation Radio Operators Certificate (AROC) (desirable).

Role requirements:

The Senior Surveyor, reporting directly to the Geospatial Manager & relevant Project Managers on-site is responsible for providing all survey support and assistance for the project.

The Senior Surveyor is responsible for the supervision of any Surveyors & Sub-Contract Surveyors on the project ensuring accurate and timely collection of data to support project planning, design, and execution. The Senior Surveyor plays a crucial role in maintaining project quality, adherence to specifications, and compliance with contractual requirements.

Required experience:

- 7+ years of experience in Bulk Earthworks Surveying

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory (project survey) role

- Proficiency in surveying software and equipment, including Total Stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and data processing software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).

Qualifications / licenses required:
