Purpose of the Position
Reporting to the Manager, Quality Assurance, the Higher Education Quality Officer provides high-level administration and operational support within Batchelor Institute’s quality assurance framework. You will drive continuous improvement across HE program accreditation, curriculum development, TEQSA compliance monitoring and stakeholder engagement, all grounded in our Both Ways philosophy.
Duties
- Develop and implement a continuous improvement strategy aligned with TEQSA Threshold Standards.
- Create and maintain the annual Threshold Standards Quality Management Plan.
- Manage, coordinate and refine QA documentation for HE course accreditation and registration.
- Advise academic leaders and teaching staff on quality assurance best practices.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external partners, including TEQSA.
- Design and embed systematic procedures and monitoring tools for institutional QA.
- Conduct regular reviews and internal audits of HE operational processes to ensure compliance.
- Monitor and update HE policies and procedures.
- Lead coordination of external TEQSA audits and act as the Institute’s registered TEQSA contact.
- Undertake other reasonable duties as directed by the line manager.
Selection Criteria
1. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in culturally diverse teams within the social, political, and cultural environments of Indigenous Australian families, communities, and organisations.
2. Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication which can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all educational levels.
3. Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
4. Demonstrated initiative and managing workload priorities.
5. Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and practices, and ability to comply with Institute WHS Policies and Procedures.
6. Robust project management skills, including system design, QA processes and data management.
7. Knowledge of TEQSA Threshold Standards, Higher Education quality systems and audit processes.
8. High computer literacy with experience in relevant software applications and web-based platforms.
9. Experience developing processes for quality and compliance monitoring including the ability to develop and deliver tailored communication strategies.
10. Demonstrated proficiency in conducting research, collating and analysing data, and translating findings into clear, concise reports and presentations, with the ability to design and deliver training and educational sessions to diverse stakeholders.
Desirable
1. Qualification or experience in Quality Auditing.
2. Qualification or experience in Training Design and Development.
