We’re seeking an Electronics Manufacturing Engineer to help us develop, improve, and optimise our electronics manufacturing processes—ensuring high quality, efficiency, and reliability across production. About the CompanyAmpac is part of a global group of life-saving technology companies committed to creating a safer, cleaner and healthier world.We specialise in the design, manufacture and distribution of fire detection and evacuation systems that are used worldwide to save lives and prevent catastrophic damage caused by fire.We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Manufacturing Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis at our facility located in the Northern Suburbs of Perth, Western Australia.
Role OverviewThis role is key to developing, implementing, and continuously improving our electronic manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality, cost-effective production.The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electronics manufacturing techniques and a proactive approach to process optimisation and problem-solving, preferably with experience applying Lean Six-Sigma methodologies.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and improve electronics manufacturing processes;Optimise process steps to improve quality, throughput, and yield;Analyse production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement;Support production with technical troubleshooting;Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues (defects, rework drivers, process deviations);Process optimisation for electronics assembly;Drive improvements for Surface Mount Technology (SMT) / Wave and Manual Soldering Processes;Work closely with design engineering teams to ensure manufacturability (DFM/DFT);Support new product introduction (NPI)



into manufacturing;Prepare programs, stencils and documentation for New Products;Collaborate with cross-functional teams including quality, supply chain, and production;Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies;Use methods such as DMAIC, root cause analysis, and data-driven problem solving to reduce waste and defects;Document and standardise processes;Maintain work instructions, process documentation, and control plans RequirementsApproximately 3+ years’ experience of electronics manufacturing processes, including:Strong problem-solving skills/team player;Surface Mount Technology (SMT);Wave soldering / Manual soldering and rework techniques;Some knowledge of Lean Six Sigma;Demonstrated strong problem-solving capabilities combined with a collaborative, team-driven approach;Familiarity with core concepts e.g., DMAIC, basic statistical thinking, continuous improvement (preferred).

Desirable QualificationsKnowledge or certification in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies;Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools;Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001);Degree in Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
