Intract Australia is seeking an experienced Design Manager – Defence to join our Building & Construction team.
This role is a excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing people together, solving problems early and helping projects move from concept through to delivery with clarity and confidence.
You will lead the design management process across Defence building and infrastructure projects, working closely with consultants, project teams, Defence stakeholders and internal leaders to deliver compliant, practical and buildable design outcomes.

What You’ll DoLead design management from concept through to construction support and handoverCoordinate multidisciplinary design consultants and internal project teamsManage design programmes, deliverables and approval requirementsLead design reviews, constructability reviews and value engineering activitiesSupport tendering, methodology development and work-winning activitiesBuild strong relationships with Defence representatives, consultants and stakeholdersSupport continuous improvement across Defence design processes
What You’ll BringTertiary qualification in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management10+ years’ design management experience on major building or infrastructure projectsDefence or government project experience highly regardedExperience across D&C;, ECI, GMP or construct-only delivery modelsStrong stakeholder engagement and communication skillsAbility to obtain and maintain Defence Security Clearance
