About The Role

The purpose of the Northern NSW Local Health District Mental Health Service is to "support people as they find solutions towards living well”.

The Acute Care Service (ACS) Social Worker provides high-quality evidence based clinical services, including triage and complex mental health assessments as part of a multidisciplinary team to people living with moderate to severe mental illness in crisis and to their family and the people who care for them. The primary focus of the role is to provide clinical intervention and strategies to manage consumers’ mental health crisis in the community in the least restrictive manner. Working independently and autonomously to provide expert clinical care within a community setting.



Providing services through the application of the principles of best practice, the provision of education, clinical leadership and supervision.
