Medical Waste Driver | HR Licence | Yatala QLD

We are currently seeking two reliable and safety-focused Medical Waste Drivers to join a growing operation based in Yatala. These positions offer an initial three-month casual engagement with the opportunity to transition to permanent employment for the right candidates.

What's on offer?

- $39.89 per hour plus overtime, penalties and allowances in line with the Waste Management Award
- Monday to Friday roster with occasional weekend and public holiday work available
- Shift start times vary between 12:00am and 5:00pm depending on operational requirements
- Typical shifts range from 8 to 12 hours
- Temp to permanent opportunity

About the role

This is a physically demanding role that involves more than simply driving from one location to another. Successful applicants will be responsible for:

- Safe collection and delivery of medical waste bins to healthcare facilities and collection points
- Loading and unloading bins from vehicles
- Manual handling and movement of bins weighing up to 30kg
- Following delivery schedules and routes to ensure timely service
- Maintaining a robust commitment to workplace health and safety procedures
- Providing a high level of customer service
- Communicating effectively with dispatch and operational teams regarding deliveries and any issues encountered





About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

- A current HR Licence (automatic restriction accepted)
- A strong work ethic and reliable attendance record
- The ability to perform repetitive manual handling tasks and heavy lifting
- A commitment to safety and following procedures
- Previous delivery driving experience (preferred)
- A current Forklift Licence (desirable but not essential)
- An understanding that this role involves significant physical work in addition to driving duties

Pre-employment requirements

Successful applicants will be required to complete:

- Workplace Health and Safety induction
- National Police Check
- Drug and Alcohol Screening
- Hepatitis A and B vaccinations
- COVID-19 vaccinations are preferred but not mandatory
