The Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited (DOSCEL) is the governing body for Catholic education in the Diocese of Sale, overseeing 39 primary schools and 5 secondary schools. DOSCEL’s mission is to deliver sustainable and inclusive education that nurtures each student’s potential and equips them to thrive in a dynamic world, enriched by a flourishing Catholic culture. The organisation is dedicated to providing leadership, support and essential resources to schools, with a robust focus on child safety, sustainability and delivering high-quality education aligned with Catholic values.

The Role

The Company Secretary and General Counsel will manage and administer DOSCEL as a corporate entity on behalf of the Board, overseeing governance frameworks and providing governance advice, company secretariat services, legal counsel and support to the Board, its Committees, the Executive Leadership Team, and employees. Additionally, the role will act as the principal legal adviser supporting the Executive Director and Board in managing complex legal matters, disputes, complaints, investigations, and litigation.

Who We’re Looking For





DOSCEL seeks a highly skilled legal and governance professional with an in-depth knowledge of contemporary governance principles and practices and sound legal judgement. You will have proven success navigating complex hierarchies and structures, managing competing needs and priorities, setting expectations, and influencing varied stakeholder groups to meet organisational goals. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate with all levels of the organisation to enable effective delivery of the Board’s agenda.
