We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Signalling Design Project Engineer to work with our client, a major rail operator, supporting the delivery of major signalling maintenance and renewal projects across Victoria.
Please note that this is an initial 6-12 month contract with strong potential for extension.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Review and verify signalling designs, including concept, detailed and Issued for Construction (IFC) documentation, ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
- Coordinate signalling engineering activities, contractor deliverables and technical interfaces across maintenance and renewal projects.
- Conduct engineering investigations, provide technical advice and support design assurance and engineering governance.
- Manage project schedules, monitor engineering progress and support the delivery of signalling works.
- Attend site inspections, undertake engineering assessments and mentor graduate engineers where appropriate.
Skills and Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated rail signalling expertise, with strong experience checking and reviewing signalling designs.
- Level 2 Signalling Statement of Competency (SOC)
- Ability to attend site inspections and travel within Victoria or interstate, including occasional overnight stays.
- Positive written and spoken English language skills including the ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels and develop detailed engineering documentation
