Foundations of CDI Course (Clinical Documentation Improvement Australia) is required; $5000 fee reimbursed upon completion.

About the Role

As a Clinical Documentation Specialist, you partner with clinicians—doctors, nurses and allied health professionals—alongside Clinical Coders, Health Information Managers, Clinical Governance and the Performance Analysis team to improve the quality and accuracy of clinical documentation. Your responsibilities include delivering education, conducting documentation reviews, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting best‑practice documentation that enhances coding, Activity Based Funding, data quality and patient care.

This role pioneers the new clinical documentation improvement function within the Mid North Coast Local Health District, influencing practice, building organisational capability and driving sustainable improvements that benefit patient outcomes and health service performance.

About You

You are an experienced healthcare professional with strong clinical knowledge and a solid understanding of clinical documentation. You possess credibility in clinical environments and are confident engaging with doctors,



nurses and allied health professionals to discuss terminology and opportunities for improvement.

As a skilled communicator and relationship builder, you educate, influence and support clinicians while navigating complex conversations with professionalism and tact. You enjoy analysing information, solving problems and driving positive change through accurate documentation and are excited by the chance to shape a new area of practice within the district.
