As a Senior Electrical Engineer (ITS & E), you'll play a leading role in delivering Queensland's Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), traffic signal infrastructure and roadway lighting networks.
Working across a diverse portfolio of projects, you'll provide specialist engineering advice, lead the development and certification of designs, and help deliver innovative transport solutions that support communities across the state.
This is more than a design role. You'll influence statewide engineering outcomes, provide technical leadership to project teams and stakeholders, mentor developing engineers and help shape the future of intelligent transport technology in Queensland.

About RoadTek RoadTek is the Department of Transport and Main Roads' commercial delivery arm, delivering transport infrastructure solutions across Queensland.
Our Intelligent Transport
Systems and Electrical teams provide specialist expertise in the design, delivery, maintenance and governance of critical infrastructure, including traffic signals, roadway lighting, communications networks and emerging smart technologies. Working alongside TMR, local governments and industry partners, we help create safer, smarter and more connected roads for Queensland communities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the development and delivery of electrical and traffic signal engineering solutions for transport infrastructure projects.
- Prepare technical specifications, engineering documentation and engineering solutions to support the planning, delivery and maintenance of ITS and electrical assets.
- Review and certify electrical and traffic signal designs in accordance with relevant standards, legislation and TMR requirements.
- Provide expert technical advice to project teams, consultants, contractors, government agencies and operational stakeholders.
- Mentor and support engineers and technical staff to build capability across ITS, traffic engineering and electrical design disciplines.
- Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships that contribute to high-quality engineering outcomes across Queensland.
About You We're looking for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and delivering practical infrastructure outcomes. You will be a cooperative professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for innovation, safety and engineering excellence. To Be Successful In This Role, You'll Have
- A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia).
- Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
- A current Class C driver's licence.
- Experience in Intelligent Transport Systems, traffic signal systems, roadway lighting or related electrical infrastructure.
